Martha says: Again in 2012, our photo was taken on vacation in the Adirondacks in August.  My other travels this year included my cousin Bess’ 100th birthday party in Rochester in January, visiting our Presberg-Greene cousins in Minneapolis in June, and attending cousin Josef Presberg’s Bar Mitzvah in California in September.  Those occasions let me visit lots of additional family at the same time.  Most of this year I’ve been babysitting for Gabriel at our own house once a week, marveling at all the new things he learns and how big he’s gotten already.  I’ve enjoyed quilting and making bibs as gifts for several young friends’ new babies.  And I’ve started advertising for a protégé to take my place as director of the Quilt Museum library when I eventually decide to retire.  There are so many projects to do at home, I wish I could clone myself.

Bob says: Having reached the official "retirement" milestone - although real retirement is still a ways off - I've started to reassess some of my activities. For example, I've placed my simulation work in the hands of a formalized Open Source team and handed off the position of team lead. I'm trying to automate as much of my IT work at the Quilt Museum as I can, with a view to handing it off to someone else. All of this has but a single purpose: more time with family and friends. I continue to work on animé, with a special bent towards shows that were never translated or were dropped part way through.
       Meanwhile, work at
Unisys goes on, and I'll be off, for the fifth time in five years, to Asia in February. This year it's the northern route: China and then India. The highlight, or at least the highest point, will be a flight from Shanghai to Bangalore that passes more or less directly over the Himalayas. Unfortunately, the flight is at night, so I won't be able to see much of anything. I've stockpiled enough books for the 45+ hours in airplanes and airports, but the cumulative weight of so much paper is making me think about an e-book reader. I'll consider it thoroughly... right after I buy a flat panel television set, which has been "under consideration" for four or five years. It doesn't pay to rush these things, you know.

Ben says:  2012 went by in a flash; we blinked and our son Gabriel is now walking, climbing stairs, feeding goldfish to the dog and redefining the term "gentle" with the cats. His first words include "a dog!" and "cat", showing where his priorities lie.  Lori has been working in the Tufts animal hospital and will graduate this spring.  X-Plane 10 has been in the market for about a year and I have not been beaten by a mob of angry users, so it looks like the release was a success.

Jonathan says: It's been a quiet year. The animals are healthy, though we did have a scare when both our horses contracted severe Lyme disease. Isabella almost didn't make it, but she's put weight back on in time for winter and seems as happy as a horse her age can be. Funkitron (the casual game company where I work) shipped Word Bird Supreme and Slingo Supreme 2 for a variety of platforms. Genarts (the video effects company where Larissa works) is doing fine, working on shipping Sapphire 7. Check out Larissa's awesome several-months-of-work Halloween costume! As you can guess, we're looking forward to the next Starcraft 2 expansion.
