This great photo taken at Jonathan and Larissa's wedding
in August by Larissa's father shows our big event of 2006.

Martha says: It seems like the older I get, the faster the year flies by. Last winter I helped Jon and Larissa move into their house, then enjoyed sewing the chuppah for their wedding. I’m still volunteering at the New England Quilt Museum and have created a website for the MassQuilts project. I drove to Rochester 3 times to visit family on happy occasions. In August we took our 25th vacation at Timberlock in the Adirondacks and I got to climb Snowy Mountain with my boys again, this time on a really beautiful day. This winter I'll be sewing curtains for Ben and Lori's house, writing my father's World War II memoire, quilting of course, and hoping global warming doesn't prevent skiing in the northeast.

Bob says: After more than two years of hard work, the first functioning hardware for my company's product is ready for debug. Next year will be even busier, as the product is introduced to real customers. In the meantime, my interest in anime (Japanese animation) has taken an unlikely twist, and I'm now involved with volunteer groups that subtitle animé for English-speaking viewers. I've worked on projects ranging from children's classics to shows that are sketchy indeed, and I've learned more about the byways of Japanese culture than perhaps I wanted to know. The simulation project also continues apace, with new discoveries every month from archives all over the world. Kampai! (Cheers!)

Ben says: A lot has changed in the last year.  Early in February I turned down employment with the FAA.  After considering my options, including public vs. private sector employment, the recent salary cuts at the FAA and labor tensions, and what kind of work environment I wanted, I decided that the FAA wasn't for me.  I would still love to be an Air Traffic Controller, but the current work environment is a deal-breaker.  I have continued my work for Laminar Research on X-Plane - we had a very good showing this year at the big air show in Oshkosh, WI, and the business is developing nicely - we added a full-time artist. Lori is still employed as a translator with the federal government. Lori and I became homeowners this year. We bought a 3 bedroom house in Laurel, MD, a suburb between Washington and Baltimore. We've been working on redecorating the first floor for the past few months; some pictures are posted on our house blog.

Jonathan says: It's been an eventful year. We started by buying our own house in Medford in February. Then we spent the next six months planning our wedding. We got married at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill, MA, on August 27th. It was a great time, with a wonderful and meaningful ceremony, good food, neat costumes, and seeing friends and family we hadn't had a chance to catch up with in a while. Shortly after our honeymoon, we adopted a Timberlock kitten named Kaya, who is now nine months old and getting along fine with Luke and Mara. Jonathan's company, Funkitron, shipped a game called Slingo Quest, which hit #1 on Real Arcade two weeks after it was released. Larissa's graduate school studies in Computer Science at Tufts continue apace, and she's expecting to have her master's degree by Spring 2007.
